Hi, I’m Bex, founder and owner of Cara Mia.

Being a part of someone’s happiest day is pretty special thing to me.

Whether you’re wedding is in NZ, Rarotonga or Aitutaki, I am able to meet with you for an initial 2hr trial in Auckland to ensure you feel confident and supported in the lead up to your ceremony.

During your 2 hour trial we can finalise your look or explore styles and come up with a few different options. My broadminded, easy going nature means the trials are always fun as well as professionally executed.

I have 17 years of combined experience in hair and makeup – working in top salons, on international films and awarded televisions shows, editorial work and of course Bridal hair and makeup – which is my true passion and why I established Cara Mia in 2013.

Checklist

Here are some tips to consider for you big day, hope you find them helpful.

Dont wash your hair the day of your wedding, gets too fluffy. Wash and condition it the day before .

Don’t try a crazy new Hair colour,  within 3 months of getting married. Work up to your favourite hues and tones and get it perfect one week before the big day this will ensure your colour is still fresh and any greys are covered if needed.

Don’t get lash extensions for the first time for you wedding. Make sure you’ve tried them and love them as once they are on they’re there to stay, for 4-6 weeks.

Don’t get a spray tan for the first time. Make sure you know what you’re getting as you could turn orange! O oh!

Don’t paint your nails on the day yourself unless it’s clear nail colour. Do get a professional manicure 2 days out and get Gel nail polish it lasts 2-3 weeks and your nails will look great for you honeymoon too! But make sure you have somewhere close to get the gel polish professionally removed as it’s the only way to get your natural nails back.

Do have a 2 hour Hair and Makeup trial, this means you get to know your makeup artist and have full confidence that your are going to
look amazing.

Don’t wing it on the day, it just gives you another thing to worry about. The time you have getting your Hair and Makeup done should be a relaxing, exciting transformation.
